5 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (26 Jan)
1. Save This For Wednesday
Matt Hardy's backstage pep talk for Private Party was far more suited for AEW programming, considering it was mostly the AEW World Tag Team Championships 'Big Money Matt' was focused on.
A quick mention of Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy's scheduled World Tag Team Championships bout with The Good Brothers at No Surrender was the only real mention of Impact Wrestling. Skimming past this, Hardy offered his clients a bonus if they were able to win the upcoming tag team Battle Royal so that they can go forward and challenge The Young Bucks at Revolution. Despite the fact that this story has been ongoing for a decent period of time now, Quen and Kassidy still didn't seem at all pleased with the tag team icon taking money out of their payslip.
Clearly, this had been taped before their heel turn on last week's Dynamite, otherwise, Marq and Isiah would have been far cockier here. Yes, they mentioned their previous victory over the Jackson brothers, but that's merely referencing the past. They weren't really being obnoxious about it.
The trio's appearance on Impact had been hyped up on social media; that this was their sole contribution to the show was a huge disappointment after last week's cracking outing against Chris Sabin and James Storm.
