More on the body of the match later, but what the f*ck was going on with the finish of this Cruiserweight Title clash?
Was it a botch, a bad idea or a little bit of both that saw Scott fall a little short aiming to smash his head on the post before the Cruiserweight Chamion Santos Escobar put him away with a move approximately half as impactful as stuff we'd seen elsewhere in the match. Beyond that, this categorically felt like the wrong result, and it was hard to reconcile after the fact.
For the go-home angle, Swerve discussed how he'd had an excuse for losing before, but that wasn't the case here. Legado Del Fantasma interfered, Ashante "Thee" Adonis made the save as part of his own showcase on the night, and Scott ultimately fell short again. It's a careful balance picking the right moment to put over a babyface after some damaging defeats - this felt like a case of missing the one.
