It was him, Rey. It was him all along, Rey.

Yours truly is willing to give Carlito's heel turn room to breathe, because it honestly could lead to some fun promos and matches over the next couple of months. No, the tag bout pitting Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee vs. Angel and Humberto didn't get much time to speak of, but it was only there to set up Carlito's reveal anyway.

Again, happy to give all of this the benefit of the doubt and see what happens next. Carlito being the guy who ambushed Lee makes sense too, because he's been visibly upset that Rey overlooked him for several tag matches since joining the LWO. Nobody had Mysterio vs. Carlito on their predictions for 2024!

Carly becoming an enforcer for the poisonous influence of Santos Escobar sounds like a hoot, and so does Dragon Lee actually getting the chance to do some talking and develop a character in response. It's vital he gets to do that, otherwise he'll continue trundling along and Carlito's heel turn will be wasted.
