5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Dec 3)

1. Squashed. Flat.

Sami Zayn The Usos

Lesnar murdering Zayn was always going to happen eventually, and that allowed Roman to take advantage of the situation. He scored an easy win just because he could, and now moves on to face Brock at Day 1 early next year. In other words, everyone was a winner.

Well, except poor Sam Zayn.

There was an almost-sympathetic vibe to Sami's performance post-Brock beatdown. He ate a spear from Roman and then got choked out before he'd even really readied himself for that Universal Title bout he earned last week. This is something WWE can come back to if they wish.

Would Zayn work as a babyface? Maybe/maybe not. He'd definitely give it a try though, and the dude excels at almost everything put in front of him these days. This squash, whilst rendering the Battle Royal result pointless, was exactly what it needed to be.
