5 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 20 - Results & Review)

5. Good Match + Laying Foundations
Right, enough negativity. Onto the good stuff!
Santos Escobar vs. Montez Ford was a mere appetiser of what's to come from both. It only scratched the surface of what these lads are capable of, but that's fine. They worked a tidy TV bout, one that laid some foundations for a broader narrative that'll hopefully feed into WrestleMania season.
Take a look at Escobar's face in the pic embedded above. He's staring right at Carlito, not The Street Profits. Santos doesn't even look grateful that his apple-spitting chum saved the day by raising hell with a steel chair. Something is brewing there, and it'll be delicious when it's ready to be served up.
Santos was initially left high and dry by Rey Mysterio. Some of his LWO cohorts were around ringside, but Rey clearly wasn't paying attention to Escobar's match. It honestly feels like Santos is building his case for what should be a hot heel turn.
