5 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's NXT (April 1)

1. Dream Bigger

Velveteen Dream
NXT

I twehink everybody expected a bit more from this. Be that a better slice of story progression, or even just something aesthetic like other members of the Undisputed Era sat in the stands, heckling the match, something a bit more substantial than a relatively routine win for Dream.

In the end, we got a strong (but relatively routine) win for Velveteen Dream, a decent little reminder of how good Bobby Fish is as a single's guy, and a request for Adam Cole to... stop playing video games for a bit. Don't get me wrong, if this was just some random midcard scrap it would probably be passable, but is this the best we can do for the NXT Championship?

Nothing about this has really clicked since Dream's return, and now despite his alleged masterplan, he feels further away from Adam Cole than he did when he was injured. I understand the circumstances, but there's a long way to go if they want to make this the sort of title match people are clamoring to see.
