5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (May 5)

Downs...

3. Repetition From Raw

There's a reason this one falls so early in the 'downs' section, it was a seriously good match. At first, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson teamed to face The Usos, before the bout was quickly turned into a 6-man tag to accommodate the presence of both AJ Styles and Roman Reigns.

As good as the action was, fans had seen it all before on Monday Night Raw. Booking a rematch just days later doesn't only overshadow the importance of the Raw occasion, it also just seems rather lazy. At least fans were handed a worthwhile effort from all involved, but Gallows & Anderson vs. The Usos would have sufficed.

Reigns pinned Anderson following a Spear, the same move he used to vanquish AJ at Payback. That was some nice continuity, but there was no need to put these guys all out there again so soon after Raw. It just felt like a complete rerun from Monday, which used to be a common complaint with SmackDown.
