‘Twas the Night Before Christmas and Raw was a bore, many fans had left the taping, sensing a snore.

Raw’s taped Christmas Eve episode had some promise coming in with several matches announced ahead of time and two title matches, but what we got was pedestrian action and a lot of status quo, with the usual corniness of the holidays thrown in to boot.

The episode wasn’t terrible, but if you had family over or were doing anything for Christmas, you certainly weren’t missing anything, nor should you rush to your DVR to play it back. Spoiler alert: Despite the McMahons telling us we get what we want, we got Baron Corbin in the main event this week.

We did see The Revival cash in their tag title opportunity and look like a serious team again. We also saw Ronda Rousey forced to use more mat-based wrestling than she previously had to utilize against Natalya. And we got news of new titles coming in 2019, which could provide a boost to the women’s division.

All in all, it wasn’t a bad way to spend the evening, but these holiday episodes are hit-or-miss, mostly miss. With that said, let’s grab some eggnog and get to it…
