The 2021 Dusty Classic is officially underway!

And what a way to kick off the latest men's bracket as The Creed Brothers and Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs put together the teams' most violent and savage offering to date. And while your writer is usually quick to poke holes in the all-round vanilla offence of the BJ-squad, here Briggs and Jensen expertly meshed their bar room brawling violence with the Creeds' usual variety of finely tuned suplexes and slams.

One sudden knee to Brutus' face from Brooks mid-single-leg attempt was enough to leave the CWC audibly groaning in sickening awe.

As the action looked to reach its climax, the newly intimate CWC barricades were bent out of shape by an oncoming Julius and Brooks before the former aided Brutus in dispatching Briggs with a massive gutwrench slam combo as the greatest exclamation point in NXT, the unnecessary clothesline, sealed the deal for the duo.

Malcolm Bivens has every right to be giddy, these two look poised to win the whole damn thing. Or at least they should, dammit!

Oh, and Briggs & Jensen followed up their loss by fumbling around after Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro backstage, because we can't get through an episode of this show without a dose of cringey romance thrown into the atmosphere.
