5 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 6)
3. Jinder Triumphs Again
You might think that Braun Strowman losing two weeks in a row to Jinder Mahal in screwy fashion would be an automatic “down,” but you’d be wrong.
Jinder pulled out a victory Monday night when Braun inadvertently hit Mahal with the Money in the Bank briefcase that Kevin Owens had stolen, thus triggering a DQ. Yes, it was a cheap win, but that was the entire point.
Braun has now lost three matches during the past month where he wasn’t pinned and didn’t submit: he tossed KO off the top of a steel cage, meaning Owens won because his feet touched the floor first; he lost via countout to Jinder last week while chasing KO; and he lost via DQ Monday night.
All of this is being done to show that the deck is stacked against Strowman at SummerSlam, where he is putting his MITB briefcase on the line against Owens. And if Braun loses for any reason (such as DQ or countout), then he would lose the briefcase.
Sure, it’s very likely that Braun will win at SummerSlam, but at least they’re showing just how easy it could be for him to lose and draw fans into the story. Simple, but effective.
