Last week, Roman Reigns stunned everyone with his announcement that he is battling leukemia and had to relinquish the WWE Universal Championship. That meant that the triple threat at Crown Jewel for the title would now be a singles bout for the vacant championship.

With that hastily thrown-together match (Roman was the focal point of the original bout) announced last week, WWE had Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman square off Monday night, with Brock and Paul Heyman guaranteeing victory, and Braun telling him he was gonna get his hands. (OK, that only sounds less weird when Strowman says it.)

Baron Corbin got in the way, so he ate three powerslams from Braun, only for Brock to sneak up and hit an F-5 on Strowman to leave him laying.

Yeah, it isn’t the best build for a title match, but given the circumstances, this is about as good as you could get.
