5 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (September 24)

1. AOP Gets Spotlight

Yes it was in a losing bout, but let’s give credit to WWE for getting the Authors of Pain into the Raw main event Monday night.

After trouncing jobbers for weeks with their questionable manager Drake Maverick in tow, AOP hurdled the rest of the tag team division to partner with Acting GM Baron Corbin to challenge The Shield. Akam and Rezar handled themselves well, hanging with the three world champions throughout the match. They even got to hit their Last Chapter finisher on Roman Reigns at one point.

Sure, they were on the losing side when Corbin was speared for the pin, but it was a dramatic change of pace for the former NXT Tag Team Champions. Hopefully that means that we’ll be seeing a bit more of them in meaningful matches going forward.
