5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (April 20th)

1. Rollins Is The Man

Kane€™s compelling development would not be possible without having someone to play off of, and that person in this case would be Seth Rollins. The new WWE World Heavyweight Champion has come into his own during the past year so well that it€™s frightening. He continues to play the sniveling heel to perfection, using his security team and relationship with the Authority to his advantage while still being able to back it up in the ring. Rollins was at his best Monday in his interactions with Kane and Triple H. Even little things like grabbing the mic from Triple H to finish his point showed that Seth is taking on the mentality that he is the most important person in WWE, even more important that his bosses. Rollins complaining about and goading Kane was fantastic, calling him a loser repeatedly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7gcYqCiJwk It was also good to see Rollins flip the switch from scared, sniveling heel to wanting to step up when Triple H gave him a pep talk backstage about being €œThe Man.€ That simple distinction is important to make fans believe that you aren€™t just the Honky Tonk Man, hiding from tough challenges. Rollins even managed to beat Dolph Ziggler without interference from his security team €“ though Sheamus did provide a key distraction. Hopefully Rollins will continue to flourish as a bright spot for WWE, and hopefully this will encourage WWE to let guys like Dean Ambrose, Ziggler and others take on more of the spotlight.
