5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 13)

1. Tag Battle Closes Strong

After watching an uneven go-home Raw, we really needed a palate cleanser, and that’s exactly what we got.

The main event pitted the Kabuki Warriors against Sasha Banks & Bayley for the latter duo’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. The bout was sloppy at times, but all four women went 100 kph and held things together nicely. Kairi Sane and Asuka looked strong as challengers, while the heel champions stood there with them, taking the occasional shortcut to keep an advantage.

The end – with Banks catching a Sane sliding clothesline and turning it into a Banks Statement for the tap-out – was a sudden ending, but it also set up Sasha’s challenge against Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship. In the past few weeks, Banks as reversed the Empress’ Asuka Lock for a surprise pin, and then reversed Kairi’s clothesline to tap her out.

Sasha looks about as strong as she can to challenge Asuka.

Hats off to the women for closing Raw strongly two weeks in a row now.
