7. Calling Out Women By Beating Up Ninjas?

Maybe you could have made the case that Shayna Baszler beating up three male ninjas doesn’t bode well for the women on Raw, but that would be a sexist statement that WWE won’t make in this day and age.

So what you had was the Queen of Spades demolishing the ninjas in quick fashion and cutting a promo where she said she was done being patient watching weak women pretending to run the division. She said she was here to shatter that illusion with a dose of reality – herself.

It was a middling promo at best, and what was really weird was calling out the women’s division by attacking ninjas. You could have had something like Dana Brooke fighting a jobber and Baszler wiping out both women as part of calling out the division. It really didn’t help that her promo was subpar.

Now, we’re giving this a tepid “down” for now, but if they can actually capitalize and handle Shayna better this time around, then it can turn this around, but we’re not holding our breath.

What’s next? Is Erik going to be jealous of Ivar’s charm with the ladies?
