5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2017
2. Second Verse, Same As The First
Stop if you’ve heard this before: Randy Orton is in control in a WWE Championship match when he loses focus and attacks the Singh Brothers, putting them through tables and annihilating them, only to climb back into the ring and immediately fall victim to Jinder Mahal’s Khallas, losing the bout.
If you think this only describes Sunday night, you’re mistaken: Nearly the same thing happened last month when Mahal defeated Orton for the world title. WWE essentially recycled the same ending for the match, giving us back-to-back PPV world title matches with distraction finishes. Sunday’s made Orton look foolish for falling for the Singh Brothers’ antics once again.
Once he had chased them off from his father, he should have stopped and turned back to Jinder.
Instead, he spent a good 3-4 minutes abusing the diminutive brothers, giving Mahal plenty of time to recover and ultimately topple Orton. Lucky us.
