5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2017

If Sunday night had been the third or fourth women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, then we could probably excuse what happened, or at least give WWE a mulligan.

But when you bill the first women’s MITB ladder match as a historic moment, and then book an ending where James Ellsworth retrieve the briefcase for Carmella… well, you deserve to be booed out of the arena. And that wasn’t, “Boo, we hate Ellsworth and Carmella,” it was, “What the actual hell just happened? BOOOO!”

Seriously, what an awful, horrendous decision for what should have been a monumental, special match. Instead, we got that, one of the worst WWE booking decisions in recent memory. It was an insult to the entire women’s division, especially the five wrestlers beating themselves up in the match.

You’ve got to wonder where that will rank in the “historic firsts” of the women’s division. Probably somewhere down around Santina Marella winning Miss WrestleMania.
