5 Wrestlers Who Could Be Deonna Purrazzo's Mystery Opponent At IMPACT Slammiversary 2021

Mickie James has to appear at Slammiversary. She's the only Black Thursday release who's had an actual tease ahead of the event; Fire N Flava's Kiera Hogan found a trash bag labelled 'Mickie' a few weeks back.

Last year, there were multiple teases, ranging from Aces & Eights to Super Eric. Of course, neither of those happened, but they were surrounded by teases that did go down. Why would IMPACT single Mickie James out for this year's pay-per-view?

The great thing about this, though, is that a Mickie James appearance at Slammiversary could also set up her match for the NWA's 73rd anniversary show on 29 August. The night before, of course, will see Mickie in the role of executive producer for Empower - the company's first all-women's pay-per-view.

Deonna could easily beat Mickie because of someone else's interference? What if, say, a freshly-heel Jordynne Grace runs in, costs James the match, and is booked to face the WWE legend at the end of August? It works in every imaginable scenario, plus Grace vs. James sounds like a banger of a match.

Similarly, Deonna could be made Mickie's opponent for that pay-per-view, regardless of the outcome at Slammiversary. A Knockouts Championship match on an NWA pay-per-view, as well as the history already there between IMPACT and NWA President Billy Corgan, could easily forge a working relationship between the two sides.
