5 WWE Superstars Who Are Defying The NXT Call Up Curse
2. Ricochet
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Ricochet on the main roster. WWE creative could have done more to make a truly outstanding worker resonate as special. His US Title run was all too brief and he’s taken more pins than you’d want for a truly protected talent.
A section of the fan base will lament that The One And Only has been slowed down to fit the WWE house style. It’s tempting to think what The Future Of Flight could achieve in NJPW or AEW with no one to clip his wings.
Nonetheless, since joining the main roster as part of a tag team with Aleister Black, Rico had been a TV regular and been given multiple title shots. He looked great beating Samoa Joe to claim that US Title.
There’s plenty of time for Ricochet to make an even bigger impact, but for now there’s every indication that WWE see him as an asset and won’t be hiding him away on Main Event anytime soon.
