6 NXT TakeOver: WarGames Predictions
2. Drew McIntyre Conquers 'Cien'
Andrade 'Cien' Almas has undergone quite the career turnaround in 2017. His transformation from developmental flop to potential star has been a slow one, but he has improved immensely from his disappointing early days, with his manager, Zelina Vega, proving to be the puzzle's missing piece. The duo are tremendous together, and there's no reason they can't become a standout main roster act someday - provided WWE don't pull them apart.
Across from him is Drew McIntyre - a strong, valiant NXT Champion who has looked excellent since returning to WWE this spring. Having successfully rebuilt his career on the indies, McIntyre is finally playing the headlining role that eluded him throughout his first run in the company, and he deserves a long, fruitful run with the belt.
'Cien' could conceivably snatch the gold on Saturday, freeing McIntyre for main roster graduation, then move into a feud with an Aleister Black or Roderick Strong himself. This isn't likely, though. It feels like WWE have only scratched the surface of what they can do with Drew's reign, so expect him to successfully overcome Almas and Vega's shenanigans on Saturday.
