6 Times WWE Used Concussion Injuries For Storylines

2. Breaking The Game - 2013

Here's something frankly unbelievable - Triple H's last proper Raw match (that wasn't an excuse for an angle) was a loss to Curtis Axel. You know, during that two week period where they flirted with the idea of actually pushing Mr. Perfect's son. Before that match (on June 10th 2013), The Game and the Social Outcast had another scrap on Raw (on May 20th) which ended in a no contest when Triple H wasn't able to continue. Hunter was selling the beating he took from Brock Lesnar the night before at Extreme Rules and began to collapse once he reached the ringside area. The Cerebral Assassin tried to shake it off, dousing his head with water but to no avail; he was forced to take a seat as the trainers restrained and tested him. Axel's then-manager Paul Heyman did a great job of feigning concern, adding an element of realism to proceedings but, once again, the commentary team ruined the illusion. 'Oh my God, you guys, is Triple H okay?'. Thanks for making suspension of disbelief impossible, JBL! WWE should have taken a page out of their own book and replicated the Michaels/Owen Hart concussion angle from 1995 and had the announcers leaving their positions or, alternatively, shutting the f*** up.
