6. MFT Getting The Win = Right Call!

JC Mateo Rey Fenix

JC Mateo and a very well-muscled Tama Tonga beat Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Fenix in a fun tag-team outing that wasn't the most essential watch but did feel constructive. The slight downside is that Fenix is just totally lost in the shuffle as some ‘rent-a-tag-partner’ dude, but the upside is that the match was fun and that’s his plight isn't really WWE’s fault - the messy Andrade situation put Rey in a bit of a tailspin.

Back on the plus side, it's great to see the MFT group get the win, because they’re the ones who needed momentum most and they’re actually a proper full-time tag concern. Hopefully, it's only a matter of time before they breeze through The Wyatt Sicks and breathe some life into this division again. Also, Triple H has to book Tama vs. Fenix in singles soon, ‘cause their sequences were the best thing about this match.

Just saying.

If one was feeling nitpicky, the finish with Talla Tonga hitting a ring apron chokeslam on Rey went off the rails (Fenix jumped into the air too early), but it didn’t kill the match or anything. Michael Cole called this “a pretty good team building exercise” for MFT. It's hard to argue with the play by play man there. Solo Sikoa's group are certainly moving in the right direction.

No, this fan isn't keen on The Sicks or the rinse and repeat staredowns both squads have been having recently, but he's hopeful that Mateo and Tama (who complement one another well) are champs elect.
