6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (June 26)

Ups...

6. The PPV-Quality Crowd

AEW soars in front of a passionate live crowd.

WWE has missed live crowds, but nowhere near as much as Tony Khan's crew. Despite trying to overcome the pandemic by placing wrestlers around ringside, AEW hasn't felt the same since COVID-19 ripped fans away from the stands and forced sparse pockets to shout themselves hoarse beneath masks.

This week's Dynamite, much like Double Or Nothing, was a beacon of hope for the future. Live crowds are starting to return, and that will enhance AEW's product more than most. The big crowd inside Daily's Place here were fired up for some Saturday night wrasslin', and they added so much to the night.

Their responses to stars like Hangman Page, Kenny Omega, Jungle Boy and others made the show feel like a mini-pay-per-view. That's a massive compliment considering it took place in a weekend spot forced upon the company by factors outwith their control.

What a crowd.
