6 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (Feb 7)

Ups...

6. The Queen Speaks

There are still a few rough edges to Shayna Baszler's work. Her promo delivery occasionally comes off light, and she sometimes lacks fluidity between the ropes, but she's a tremendous performer for someone so inexperienced. Baszler isn't even three years into her career. Minor flaws are to be expected, but she's in the best place in the world to overcome them.

Last night brought her short, succinct response to her TakeOver: Philadelphia loss to Ember Moon. In one of those pre-taped "earlier today" segments, Shayna pointed out that in a single month, she has become the most feared women in NXT. Her opponents can "tap, nap, or snap," and that there won't be an NXT Women's Title rematch, because Moon (a "fake champion"), is scared.

Great stuff all-round from 'The Queen Of Spades,' who projects more menace than anyone else on the women's roster. The company have handled her presentation perfectly, and while Ember was absent this week, we look forward to their feud's continuation.
