6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (15 Aug - Results & Review)
4. Just Really Snappy Tag Work
Fraxiom vs. Melo Don’t Miz started slowly, but they were up and at it during the second half. There was a subtle thread of Carmelo Hayes not listening to The Miz’s advice throughout, and it looked like it’d cost them. Then, the protege came up with the goods before Miz tagged in to hit Skull Crushing Finale and steal the glory for himself. Well, that worked, and it was heartening to see Melo doubt The Miz has his best interests in mind after last week's 'OK LET'S TEAM UP AGAIN' stuff.
You've gotta feel slightly sorry for Fraxiom, because they look like they’ve lost some momentum, but the pair are still capable of putting on banger matches. Frazer looked inspired when he was working with Miz, and he dazzled in some seriously slick exchanges with Hayes that should bag the pair a singles match on TV sometime. Give them 10 minutes, Hunter. You know you want to, son.
Time to play the game etc etc.
It remains to be seen if Melo Don’t Miz challenging The Wyatt Sicks for the tag titles will fly at some stage, but this was a fab match that started creeping into awesome territory near the end. Melo's face when Miz stole his thunder was also priceless, and WWE's cameras thankfully got a right good shot of it.
There were 2 fabulous tag-team bouts on this week's SmackDown. Both had their own voice and different things to say, but Fraxiom vs. Melo Don't Miz had a killer plot line to help it stand out as something that'll matter in coming weeks and months.
