6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Collision (March 16 - Results & Review)

1. You Knew This Would Be Good!

Bryan Danielson Katsuyori Shibata
AEW

Good lord, what a wrestling match.

Bryan Danielson vs. Katsuyori Shibata was always going to be a scorcher, but it might've been deceptively easy for them to disappoint due to the lofty expectations going in. That doesn't seem to happen with workers this skilled, to be fair. They always find a way to entertain, and their passion for pro wrestling comes across.

Special mention must go to Nigel McGuinness for pointing out immediately that both men suffered nasty head injuries during their respective primes and were told their careers were over. So, to have them inside an AEW ring making magic in 2024 is something everyone should be grateful for.

All Elite's next challenge is injecting a bit more long-term purpose into Bryan's match with Will Ospreay before Destiny. You can have stunning matches and impactful, emotionally-engaging stories, basically. That becomes a little tougher after Danielson told the media he'll never be AEW World Champ, but it's still achievable.

Anyway, top, top match. One of the best in Collision's history to date.
