6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 24)

1. A Step Backwards (Again)

Things were on the right path for the SmackDown Women's Title feud when WWE leaned on Natalya's Sharpshooter being a viable threat to Ronda Rousey. They've since moved away from that simple story in favour of Nattie cosplaying as Ronda and cracking bad jokes.

This segment was a miss.

Natalya doesn't come across as the threat she's supposed to be when the heat is on either. Instead of using her finish to deadly effect, she's pushing a kid's buggy around and then sh*tting bricks whenever Rousey comes near. There's a real disconnect here between the story Michael Cole is trying to tell and what's actually happening.

Perhaps the only upside to this promo skit was Ronda, which is surprising. She got a few nice lines in (the one about Nattie's "rack" was funny) and generally seemed more composed than she usually does. Still though, nobody is buying Natalya as a threat anymore.
