6 Ups & 4 Downs For WWE Raw (13 Oct - Results & Review)
3. Rollins Negs His Guys
While the ending of Raw produced a legit shocking moment, WWE managed to provide some overt hints at what was to come during the show. Some of it was a bit much – the backstage segment with Seth Rollins beaming and saying that nothing could bring him down just screamed for him to suffer calamity – but the opening segment contained a nice rationale that became more obvious in hindsight.
Rollins was preening in the ring, basking in his victory at Crown Jewel, and he decided to put over his two charges. However, he ended up taking credit for their successes, telling Bron Breakker that there were whispers of him being great, but that greatness blossomed under Rollins these past six months. Bronson Reed never would have beaten Roman Reigns six months ago, but he succeeded Saturday due to Seth’s tutelage.
Later, when talking about how Roman needed the Shield and the Bloodline to win big matches, Rollins ranted that he didn’t need Reed or Breakker to win his matches, negating his stable’s contributions and fueling their distrust.
For all the abruptness of the swerve, this at least can serve as a bit of a justification next week when the two Bronnys presumably explain themselves.
