6 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (8 July)

Downs...

4. Oh Striker, Where Art Thou?

Matt Striker D-Lo Brown
IMPACT Wrestling

Matt Striker is still 'on assignment', as he has been since the 27 May broadcast. The former Lucha Underground announcer has had Josh Mathews filling in for him alongside D-Lo Brown in his absence. Mathews was particularly unbearable on this episode; one example saw him spend the entirety of Havok and Rosemary vs. Kimber Lee and Susan - a number one contender's match, mind you - plugging the upcoming Wrestle Week on AXS TV ahead of Slammiversary.

Josh, for all the good he does behind the scenes for IMPACT Wrestling, simply is not an enjoyable commentator. At times, it feels like he doesn't give a single sh*t about what's going on in the ring. This isn't good enough. Bless D-Lo for trying, but that's a hard task for anyone.

Presumably (and hopefully), Striker will be back in the booth for Slammiversary. He seems fine to present shows away from the IMPACT Zone, so what gives?
