Champion Bobby Roode showed up for a short segment with Chilly Willy Regal, which pitched the idea of hulking Northern Irishman Dain and the scowling Scotsman McIntyre as potential challengers for the NXT title. A number one contender's match was duly booked for next week's show, with the winner going on to face Roode at Takeover: Brooklyn.

It wasn't a compelling segment and there isn't much plot going into the match between the two Celtic grapplers, barring a parking lot scuffle between SAnitY and McIntyre that felt bolted to give things some heat and remind everyone SAnitY are jerks. The match itself, however, has the potential to be very good and it at least means that there will be some build-up to a new championship challenger for Takeover.

It also confirms that the WWE has plans for Killian Dain beyond serving as SAnitY's attack dog, and that it has enough faith in McIntyre to make him part of a major angle for the brand. The likelihood is that SAnitY's shenanigans will get Killian Dain the ticket to Brooklyn. before that, Dain should get the chance to show off some of his intimidating presence and raw impact, and McIntyre might even remind everybody why he was once the Chosen One.
