6 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (May 31)
3. Exit Light, Enter Night
For the second time this week, we’re giving a match a down when it really deserves to get an up. Eddie Edwards and Killer Kross’ Street Fight was a decent match, but we can’t put it on the positive side of this article because of one man – The Sandman.
The kendo stick fanatic came to the aid of Edwards in this match, delivering two shots with his favourite weapon to the body of Kross. One Boston Knee Party later, and Eddie was declared the winner of this match. As was the case with the aforementioned six man tag team match, this was fine, but the use of an ECW star prevented it from reaching its full potential.
That’s not to say the ECW guys ruin everything they’re a part of. If that’s what we were saying, then there would be an automatic down every week seeing as Rob Van Dam’s signed with the company full-time. It’s the way they’re being positioned that’s the problem here. They shouldn’t be taking the spotlight away from the Impact roster. Fewer of them is key here – don’t use them all the time just because you’re in the old ECW Arena.
