6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE NXT Spring Breakin' (30 April - Results & Review)

4. Meaty Men Slap Meat

Ivar Oba Femi
WWE

It’s scary when you realize that Oba Femi had just 15 televised matches under his belt heading into Spring Breakin’, where he faced a challenge from a very game Ivar.

But the North American Champion acquitted himself well during what can best be described as a standard modern-day WWE hoss fight. Ivar squashed Femi with a senton off the apron and then another off the top rope to the floor, and his signature barricade splash. But Femi weathered all of that, overcoming a Doomsault to counter another attempted finisher with an electric chair and a pop-up powerbomb for the win.

The match itself was sloppy at times – Ivar looked like he either was a bit dazed or winded at one point and blew a couple spots in the middle – but they continued on and finished strong, with Ivar’s Doomsault that connected looking like he landed square on Oba’s head.

This wasn’t a classic by any standard, but it was another solid defense for the rising superstar.
