6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (22 Jun - Results & Review)
1. Oba Brushes Past Jey

Week after week, Oba Femi proves that the microphone is a surprising strength for him as he laps wrestlers with tons more experience.
Femi opened Raw Monday night and talked about how destiny has been on his side since he was born, how it has carried him to this point, and how it will carry him all the way through to SummerSlam. Before he could tip his hand about which champion he would challenge as King of the Ring, Jey Uso joined him.
Uso, the announcers theorized, tried to get under Oba’s skin by soaking in the cheers and yeets, then running his theme back over Femi’s objections. Jey cut a pretty good promo, noting how he’s been counted out his entire singles career, so being given little chance to best Oba is just another obstacle for him to climb, an opportunity to silence the haters and shock the world.
But here’s where Oba is so damn good on the mic. He took Jey’s “warning shot” line and spun it back around, telling him that when he shoots for real at Night of Champions, he better not miss or Femi will destroy him. But even if that shot hits him – Oba will still destroy him.
Regardless, Jey isn’t the Bloodline member who most concerns Oba, so Main Event Jey can take his “stupid bullets” and give them to his cousin.
Verbally blowing right past Jey and looking ahead to Roman Reigns might seem like a presumptuous mistake from The Ruler, but this was more likely a calculated diss to get under Uso’s skin, playing into his insecurities and just further riling up the hothead. That’s a veteran move, not something a rookie would typically employ.
Great stuff here that adds intrigue to Saturday’s KOTR final. Just keep Brock Lesnar out of this and let us have nice things for once.
