6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (22 Jun - Results & Review)

2. A Fun, Energetic Little Match

WWE Raw Ethan Page Dragon Lee

No one should have doubted that Ethan Page versus Dragon Lee would be a perfectly entertaining little midcard bout buried in the middle of Raw Monday night.

Page, who lost his first attempt at the Intercontinental Championship, is trying to fight his way back into contention by beating one of Penta’s contemporaries, Lee. Both men are solid professionals who can deliver when the bell rings, and that’s more or less what we got here: a competently worked match that saw All Ego take a few shortcuts (twisting Dragon’s mask to momentarily blind him) and Lee blitzing him with a flurry of offense.

But when Dragon went for a Styles Clash, Page headbutted him low and nailed the Egoplex for the win. It was just enough of a tainted win to allow Dragon to save a bit of face while following the pattern for Ethan’s victories.

This should get Page back into the IC title picture, while Dragon continues to hover a step below Rey Mysterio and Penta. Not much else to say here about this, other than Ethan continues to be a perfectly serviceable midcard heel on Raw who takes advantage of his opportunities.
