6 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (Nov 29)

4. Edge/Miz Will Do

Edge is right: He doesn’t have a huge window open for having matches and feuds. But not everyone rivalry needs to be some epic “dream” feud.

So having two long-tenured veterans like Miz and Edge mix it up, as they kicked things off, is a good thing. The two both returned to WWE programming after being off TV for a bit, with Maryse accompanying her husband. Miz and Edge verbally sparred, with the Rated-R Superstar putting over Miz’s career accomplishments – almost making him sound credible instead of a mid-card goof.

The feud could actually be a good one on a couple different levels: both men are good at being serious and at being jokey, sarcastic jerks. Both men also have wives who are former women’s champions, which opens the door to do a singles match and a mixed tag along the way. And, if you’re not going to put either one in a title feud, this is a perfectly acceptable place to park both veterans.

So for now, we’ll give this new rivalry an “up.”
