6 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (April 19)

4. Losers Suddenly Win

Was Monday Night Raw transported to Canada, AKA Bizarro World?

The ugly truth of WWE’s haphazard booking was on full display on Monday night, as several wrestlers who have been portrayed as perennial losers suddenly won matches with no notice or build, leaving you to wonder if the writers even pay attention to their own show, or if we’re just hitting a hard reset of sorts.

Elias is 0-11 in matches in 2021, often taking the pinfall in tag matches. Yet he pinned former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston cleanly.

Lana & Naomi have been punching bags in the women’s tag division for the past two months, but they toppled Shayna Baszler after Nia Jax walked out on the team.

T-Bar & Mace were part of the worst stable in history, and they managed to score a DQ win over Braun Strowman & Drew McIntyre.

Riddle hasn’t beaten anyone not in RETRIBUTION since February, and then he cleanly pinned Randy Orton on Monday.

On their face, none of these are bad. But all of these results, on the same night, is just a bit much to stomach. And the bigger question: How many of these sudden wins will still matter next week?
