6 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 25)

4. Crews Continues Death Spiral

Remember when Apollo Crews debuted in NXT and was a can’t-miss prospect, a future world champion?

Today, the former Uhaa Nation is little more than a jobber to the stars, a guy who can beat jobbers like Curt Hawkins, Kalisto and Heath Slater (the only he’s defeated since coming over to Raw) but loses to guys higher on the food chain. At No Mercy and again on Raw, that person was Elias.

And while we can breathe a sigh of relief that we didn’t get the dreaded 50/50 booking to set up a rubber match no one wants to see, you have to feel for Crews, who has floundered since his call-up to the main roster last year. Sure, he gets small wins and can wow the crowd with his flashy moves, but no one would take him seriously against Miz or Bray Wyatt or anyone like that.

Not everyone can be a main-event star, but it’s still tough to watch Apollo struggle.

Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
