6 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 21)

1. David Versus Goliath

Finn Balor Braun Strowman

The outcome of the Finn Balor/Braun Strowman match wasn’t really in doubt, but what was up in the air was how competitive the contest would be.

It turns out that we got a pretty darn good bout from the two superstars. Unlike the Roman Reigns/Kevin Owens match, Braun shrugging off Finn’s chops and dominating on offense worked really well. But even then, Strowman ended up taking a fair amount of punishment, including a Coup de Grace on the floor, making it almost believable that Balor could topple the Monster Among Men.

Of course, Braun would hit a pair of powerslams to get the win, but it was a pretty entertaining match overall. We’ll give a slight knock for booking this “first time ever” match on the fly during Raw, but this really is a different era we’re living in now.
