Sometimes, The Destroyer doesn’t need to leave wreckage in his path.

Samoa Joe squared off against Chris Jericho Monday night in a short but energetic match, one that protected both men and left fans wanting more after this first-time encounter. After trading a few signature moves, Joe applied a Kokina Clutch outside the ring, holding it until an 8 count and diving back into the ring, winning by countout.

It might seem like a cheap win, but Joe won by his hand and demoralized Jericho a little (although Y2J got back a little with a Codebreaker). Monday also was the first time we really saw Joe and Kevin Owens pair up to attack adversaries, which lent some credibility to the theory of a Triple H-led stable. That alone should merit an “up” if that comes to fruition.

But for now, kudos as Samoa Joe continues to get his hand raised.
