5. Booker Humiliated, Complimented
When Triple H called Booker T. into the ring Monday night, did anyone else think he would hit a Pedigree and leave Booker to sell the move like he was dead for five minutes? Instead, Booker played the role of Sting stand-in (like Ric Flair did previously) and engaged Triple H. Hunter responded to a comment about not being able to control Sting by firing Booker for all of two minutes. The emasculation, however, was really short-lived as Triple H then proceeded to not only reveal it was a ruse, but he pointed out that Booker is great at what you do and a valuable part of this (announce) team. That might seem like nothing, but considering where it felt like the segment was going the moment Triple H engaged Booker, hearing him praise the WWE Hall of Famer and explain that he was just trying to prove a point was a relief. Booker played it just right, with the right amount of disgust, disdain and embarrassment on his face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBEx8Md1O0o And before you say that this is just Triple H putting himself over at the rest of the rosters expense, consider how he built Booker back up and then ask if Stephanie McMahon has ever done that.
