Another storyline with partially-hidden roots in the history of TNA, there would be no better way to get Joe over as a killer than have him retire a beloved veteran of the WWE. The ideal candidate for the role of opponent would of course be Christian, having battled with Joe many years previously off the WWE radar. Rumours of is impending retirement have been swirling for a while now, and a great way to go out in memorable fashion would be at the hands of a devastating assault from the newcomer. Christian has been around for long enough to generate a great deal of sympathy from hardcore and casual fans alike, something which would lead naturally to a sickening beatdown at the hands of Joe. The Samoan could jump an unsuspecting Christian during a seemingly innocuous Raw segment, or utterly squash him after a short build to a PPV encounter. Either way, the impact of such an angle would quickly start Joe on the right track, allowing him to build a reputation as a potential career-ending opponent and malicious heel, destroying opponents with little care for their reputation.
