7 Biggest Opportunities WWE Missed To Turn Roman Reigns Heel

5. When He Stopped Entering Through The Live Crowd

Just before WrestleMania 32, WWE tweaked Roman's entrance routine. Suddenly, he stopped emerging through the crowd like he had done with The Shield and on his own for years. This was done either because WWE feared that viewers would see people booing, or because they just wanted Reigns to do that Superman Punch intro on the stage.

Whatever their reasons, the creative team missed a trick by not booking Roman to acknowledge why he no longer walked through the people. This was a massive presentation change for one of the top stars in the promotion, so it was important Reigns discussed it on camera. WWE had the chance to plant the notion that he considered himself above the masses.

It'd be a simple story, but an effective one. There's just one problem: WWE didn't want Roman to get booed. Why not? Encouraging an organic response from your audience is surely what every wrestling promotion craves, and that genuine emotion comes across on TV.
