Now that Roode has run his race as NXT Champion, there are one or two murmurs that a main roster bow is imminent, although it would be a shame if he were to leave with defeat, having been beaten in Saturday's main event.

There is, perhaps, a little bit of unfinished business between the Canadian and Roderick Strong, whose very personal feud culminated last month with Strong's unsuccessful title challenge.

It's possible, then, that Roode could stick around for a final swansong on NXT away from the title picture (since McIntyre now seems to be moving onto greener pastures) before making the step up to Raw or SmackDown, particularly as the expected Superstar Shake-Up - an obvious opportunity to call him up - is yet to be formally announced.
