The art of the wrestling manager may be one that has struggled along more than thrived in modern-day pro wrestling, but Bobby Heenan always provides entertainment when looking back on his career. One of the greatest talkers to ever grace the industry, Heenan excelled as both a ringside nuisance and a colour commentator. His partnership with Gorilla Monsoon is viewed as legendary, and for good reason.

As early as 2002, Bobby opened up to fans via his website and informed them that he had throat cancer. Heenan promised to battle the disease. His infamous line, 'If the late, great Gorilla Monsoon couldn't shut me up, cancer isn't going to either' was humourous, but would sadly prove false. Now, the legendary wrestling figure has severe trouble speaking at all, which is a terrible shame to think about.

Bobby Heenan earned a good living using his voice, and now he can barely even utter the most simple of words. That's utterly tragic, a cruel twist of fate that has robbed someone with a unique talent of his gift. In images from his most recent appearances, Bobby has looked incredibly frail, but is still hanging in there and appearing at fan signings and events when he can.
