6. The Average Hardcore Title Reign Length Was Six Days
Weve already seen with Raven that on average, Hardcore title reigns are incredibly short indeed. But was Ravens record something of an outlier? In a word, no. As mentioned previously, there were a total of 238 title reigns over the Hardcore Championships 45-month lifespan. Calculated as a daily average, that makes each reign just six days in length. As ever though, that number is heavily affected by the 24/7 rule. Prior to its introduction, the Hardcore title changed hands 14 times at an average of just under 35 days each. If anything, at five weeks thats a slightly above-average figure for the Attitude Era, where the WWE Championship somehow managed to change hands 11 times over the course of 1999. After the introduction of the 24/7 rule though, that figure fell dramatically. A further 224 reigns followed at an average of just over four days apiece, meaning that while Ravens stints with the belt were slightly shorter than average, they were hardly much of an anomaly. In an age where certain superstars can hold the WWE title for 434 days, it can be difficult to fathom reigns of less than a single week.
