7 Forgotten WWE Appearances By AEW Stars
5. Kris Statlander
Through her toughness and natural charisma, Kris Statlander is one of the most loved performers amongst AEW's hardcore audience. A former TNT Champion and the current AEW Women's Champion, Stat is best known as a singles competitor, but her one and only WWE performance came as part of a tag team.
Coming just two days after The IIconics won the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 35 back in 2019, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce's reign started with a SmackDown appearance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. After irritating everybody with their opening promo, the Aussies then had a swift victory against a local team called The Brooklyn Belles. This entirely made-up tag team comprised of "Karissa and Kristen", Karissa Rivera (the future/former Elektra Lopez) and Kris Statlander.
The IIconics introduced the Belles as having a record of 46-0, but, in truth, this was their only appearance together as a tag team. They say "never say never", but a Statlander return to WWE in the future seems highly unlikely, as AEW has recognized her as an elite-level solo performer, and that shows no signs of slowing down.
