John Cena is one of the most controversial wrestlers of this generation. John Cena has tied the record for the most world title victories, equaling Ric Flair at sixteen. To say John Cena has the support of WWE management is the biggest understatement of the century.

Though he has recently won and lost his 16th world title, it was during his fourth reign as US champion that Cena haters realised the veteran could be used to elevate new talent. What some people saw as Cena burying the roster, most saw as an opportunity for lesser known talents to gain some good exposure. Cena put on spectacular matches every week with his Open Challenge, where the likes of Sami Zayn, Neville, and Cesaro were made to look like credible threats to the champion. He even lost clean to the then NXT champion, Kevin Owens.

These days, Cena works a less hectic schedule, freeing him to work on other projects but he still receives a huge pop whenever he returns to the squared circle.
