7 Major Dean Ambrose WWE Matches That Totally Disappointed

5. Dean Ambrose Vs. Bad News Barrett (Fastlane 2015)

As previously noted, Dean Ambrose was on a hot streak in the latter half of 2014 as a singles star. Although there was the belief that his countless losses would build to a major moment of some sort, they never did, and he was a glorified midcard competitor by the time the road to WrestleMania 31 came around.

He had a fun little feud with Bad News Barrett over the Intercontinental Championship, and the two had been known to deliver good matches in the past. But for whatever reason, their one-on-one encounter at Fastlane failed to meet expectations. It was already a lame event, but their below-average outing hardly helped matters.

Mind you, this was in the midst of Barrett's deplorable reign as champ where he lost almost every match he had, so it wasn't entirely Ambrose's fault that their match wasn't good. To top it all off, the finish saw Ambrose get himself unintentionally disqualified, ending the bout on a sour note.

There wasn't any payoff to it, either. Both men were thrown into the Ladder match at WrestleMania 31 for the belt and lost. Ambrose wouldn't win the once-prestigious prize until December's TLC event.
