5. The Real John Cena Has Stood Up

John Cena has earned several plaudits in recent years for his newfound willingness to lose matches, his acknowledgement that he was in the wrong to bury The Rock for transitioning to Hollywood, and modifying his in-ring style to deviate from his heroic underdog schtick.

This week, we saw an unwelcome return to the John Cena of old.

He was probably under orders to make Baron Corbin look like an a** at SummerSlam. Orders of his own, if rumours are to be believed; Cena allegedly told Vince McMahon that Corbin doesn't have "it". If he did have it, it no longer mattered after just over ten minutes of tepid action. Cena took "it" away from him in a dire match plucked straight out of 2010. He darted out of the ring in seconds and wore JBL's hat to mock him. He sold for him in patches, but mostly, he rushed through his comeback routines and dispatched of him with the greatest of ease.

On RAW, he was even worse. He grinned his way through his segment with Roman Reigns. He poured water over The Miz's fiery promo by calling him out for a botch. In his impromptu tag team match with Reigns, opposite Miz and Samoa Joe, he called attention to the beach ball flying around the air like it was the most amusing thing imaginable. He also indulged in his favourite hobby by pinning Miz.

News broke very recently that Cena is on RAW to give the roster a rub, hilariously. Jesus Christ, we are doomed.
