5. Sheamus Is More Popular Than Enzo Amore

Enzo Amore at the height of his NXT popularity was like Bayley, but with a Y chromosome. He was so popular and likeable that a face turn was a prospect as inconceivable as it was daft. Leave it to the RAW creative team to contrive to accidentally turn him heel as he performed in the face role.

WWE has a heavy-handed approach to the phenomenon of Flanderisation - a TV trope which sees characters morph into grotesque caricatures of themselves, their most identifiable characteristics ramped up to eliminate shades of grey. In NXT, Enzo was a cheeky sort who thrilled audiences by skirting along the line of brattishness. On the main roster, he has simply turned into a brat.

During the No. 1 Contender's Tag Team Title match, with partner Big Cass opposite Cesaro and Sheamus, Enzo blind tagged in, ran across the ring, and dabbed in front of Cesaro's face before running away like a child. It was not a new development. Enzo had attempted to steal Rusev's wife; pilfering TJ Perkins' act was nothing.

After bragging that he was the Swiss Superman Cesaro's kryptonite over and over again, like an obnoxious toddler, Sheamus booted him in the face to deafening roars of "Thank you Sheamus!" The same Sheamus who was widely condemned as boring and irrelevant just six months ago is now more popular than a man who was teflon to hatred.
